If the Private Pay / Out-of-pocket option is preferred, in many cases patients can still apply for reimbursement of psychological services with provided documentation. Our clinic will be happy to provide “superbills,” which are detailed invoices outlining the services a patient received. Full payment will be expected at time of service.

Disclaimer: We want to protect your privacy, and value the essential beauty, worth and importance you have as a person. In practice, insurance requires disclosure of psychological diagnosis, which becomes part of your medical records. Not only this might be detrimental for negative labeling and self-identification, but could compromise the therapeutic success and progress.

While we offer and are supportive of full diagnostic evaluations and testing, insurance companies also require doctors reveal symptoms, behaviors, and treatment plans. This confidential information can be potentially damaging if hacked.

Furthermore, insurance might deny a patient partial or full access to psychotherapy through paperwork, reimbursements, re-authorizations for treatment, etc. We are committed to provide open, fair, and supportive access to healthcare to all people, where nobody can be rejected on the basis of an insurance review.

Clinical, Scientific, and Academic Reviews

“Tomasi has written simply the book we were waiting for, the book that the current fields in medicine and psychology badly need. This outstanding volume offers a complete overview of theoretical information about brain, psyche, culture, bringing an ideal combination of scientific and clinical perspectives to the topic. A book that will change the way you think.”

Erica F.Poli, MD, Psychiatrist-Psychotherapist, EFP Group, Milan

“Tomasi analyses the “mind-body problem” with a critical appraisal that combines the rigor of the scientific method with the speculative insight and thoroughness of the philosophy. The combination of the two sources of knowledge makes this book a fundamental tool for those who share the need to bridge the (apparent) gap between science and philosophy.”

Prof. Dr. Francesco Orzi, MD, Neurologist, Full Professor of Neurology, Sapienza University of Rome, and Member of the Siena Academy of Sciences

“A bold and visionary thinker, his analysis of diverse topics—such as patient self-perception, the mind-brain problem, the limitations of evidence-based medicine, the role of complementary and alternative medicine, and the impact of patients’ faith and/or connection to a higher purpose on healing—demonstrates how Medical Philosophy can help to shape our understanding of medicine, psychiatry, psychology, and neuroscience.”

William Tobey Horn, MD
Medical Director, Inpatient Psychiatry, University of Vermont Medical Center

“A seminal piece of work modeling a truly integrative approach to mental health. A must read for all health care providers wanting to implement a mind body approach.”

Dr. Karen C. Westervelt - University of Vermont Integrative Health Education Director
